Tired of feeling tired? Try these tips to help increase your energy and vitality…

Many people find themselves lacking in energy, especially at certain times of the day. You can reclaim your energy and vitality by making some small changes to your lifestyle and diet.

Commit to a regular sleep routine. Research proves that lack of quality sleep can be detrimental to your health, energy and mood. Ideally aim for seven to nine hours of shut–eye each night.

Remove energy zapping technology from your bedroom while you sleep. Resist charging your mobile phone or other technology connected to wi-fi in your bedroom. EM(electro-magnetic) smog fills the air around us, and the research is still inconclusive on the long term impact of the constant exposure to our brains and bodies.

Cultivate the practice of meditation. Meditation brings a wide variety of benefits include increasing our capacity to manage stress, improving our ability to focus, decreases anxiety and overall improves our energy and sense of well-being.

Tune into the natural environment around you and embrace your senses. Draw energy from your natural world by walking barefoot on the earth, allow the sun to warm your body and the ocean to cleanse your skin.

Move your body in ways that you enjoy and that make you feel good. Find a fun sport, activity or go for a walk. In experiments conducted by Robert Thayer, PhD, a brisk 10-minute walk not only increases energy, but the effects can last up to two hours.

Take a Power Nap. Research has shown that both information overload and pushing our brains too hard can zap energy. Studies have shown that a 60-minute “power nap” can not only reverse the mind-numbing effects of information overload, it may also help us to better retain what we have learned.

Make sure your body is getting adequate vitamins and minerals preferably from a well-balanced diet. Important minerals and vitamins required for great energy include; magnesium, iron, B vitamins, zinc and essential fatty acids.

Eat breakfast. Food boosts your metabolism and gives the body energy to burn. A healthy protein based breakfast is still the most important meal of the day and sets the body up for how it will function throughout the day.

Boost your energy with adaptagens and nervous system herbal remedies such as; Siberian ginseng, withania, oats, american ginseng and licorice.

Drink plenty of water – a dehydrated body functions less efficiently and leads to fatigue.

Have lots of fun! Laughter is one of the best energy boosters around.

Wishing you well,
